Our current project is preserving the military history of northern New York by refurbishing two cold war era aircraft at the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base.
Offering support for any aviation related need including annual inspections, routine maintenance, modifications, refurbishment, & restoration.
What We've Achieved
Our proudest achievement is the refurbishment of the FB-111A medium bomber serial number 68-0286 at the main gate of the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base. In just a few short weeks in the fall of 2017 a group of dedicated volunteers was assembled and worked tirelessly while the days grew shorter and colder to clean, sand, and paint the weathered old aircraft. Some detail work still remains as of the spring of 2018 and work will continue as soon as warmer weather arrives.
Some preliminary work has been done on the other bomber at the former base. The "Pride of the Adirondacks" B-47E will be the next big project starting in the spring of 2018. Some parts and doors have been removed and the aircraft condition evaluated to aid in the work plan. Many more hours, volunteers, and supplies will be needed through the warm months to erase the years of weathering and neglect. Watch for updates in the projects tab on this website and on Facebook!
